Shortly few days after ushering in the new year, my Granduncle bidded us goodbye. He took his last breath on the morning on 03 Jan 2007.
A morning call from my mum had my brother and myself speeding down to the hospital to collect his body.
A call to the undertaker was all it took. This man had previously handled my aunt's funeral last year. All the necessary arrangements were seen to, without us worrying and chasing around.
Of course, the most upset of all relatives would be still my Grandmother. The passing of my Grandfather two years ago had taken a toll on her. She was visibly upset when her younger brother took his turn as well.
For me, I was not very close to my Granduncle. He was, in my memory, a very staunch supporter of Singapore Pools, despite his condition :)
When I was young, I used to find him mumbling to himself and kept pacing up and down. I did asked mum about it, she merely brushed it off as some 'spell' casted onto him.
Overtime, as I grew up, we all learnt to accept who he is. Despite the conditions/ spell he was under, he was forever that gleeful. Whatever it is, he have finally found his peace. Bless the man.

Death, waits for no one. Everyone dies, eventually. And it is a fact that none other can avoid.
Rich, poor, fit, sickly... the blade of Death will find its mark someday.
Remember, one more day you have lived, is one day shy towards death.
