Little Red Dot Press - SG most unimaginative marriage proposals 28 Jan 2007

Fret not, The Editor is not springing any last minute surprises. Of late, the Editor have been too sluggish to write anything, or the fact would be he has been too engrossed with online gaming.

---

Overheard many morning ago on the radio talk show, seeking callers on how their partners proposed to them. One of which, the Editor figured to be the MOST lamest of all, would be "Shall we go get a flat?"

Singaporeans being Singaporeans, as some would say, are the LEAST creative lot. The Editor sincerely believes that this could have been the most overused proposal of the lot.

"Shall we go get a flat?" would have sounded a little bit bland for a decent marriage proposal. Singaporeans could not have been too little innovative. Fancy them coming up with such an idea.

Perhaps after decades of rote-learning, the brain cells of these unimaginative men have ended up stunted in the area of imagination, uncapable on contriving any better ways to propose to his other half.

Creativity needs an endless source of imagination. To impose restrictions or giving directions would only mean to stifle the endless boundaries of imagination.

One man's meat is another man's poison. The Editor have no qualms should these ladies do not take offence at such pitiful attempts at proposals.

Till next round, this is your Editor signing off.
